tsf continues to source 100% green electricity

In the new year, tsf will continue to source 100% green electricity, which is generated exclusively from renewable energy.

The managing director of Stadtwerke Tübingen (swt), Ortwin Wiebecke, welcomes the new supply contract between swt and tsf: “We are pleased that we can continue to supply tsf with our certified green electricity. The overall resonance and demand for green electricity is increasing in the economy.”

The resulting additional costs will be 100% reinvested in the further expansion of renewable energies in order to realize ambitious European climate goals. The managing tsf shareholder Johanna Stadtler: “There is no planet B, and we are fully aware of this enormous responsibility. Especially due to our relatively energy-intensive products and production processes, we have to face the challenge of resource-conserving methods and therefore want to contribute to the national expansion of renewable energy. ”

In addition to the purchase and planned production of environmentally friendly green electricity, tsf is also striving to increase in resource efficiency, with numerous projects and micro-measures aimed to improve energy efficiency. Among others, these measures were awarded by the state of Baden-Württemberg in the competition for excellence “100 Companies for Resource Efficiency”. With new production facilities, heat recovery and highly efficient operating infrastructure, tsf reduces its relative total annual energy requirements. Managing Director Stephan Strohbücker adds: “Through these measures, we try to reconcile the ecological footprint with the economic goals of our customers and minimize the additional burden of rising energy costs for our customers.”

From 2019, tsf will also make its own contribution to green electricity generation and install a photovoltaic system with just under 100 kWh. This alone will offset around 81.9 tons of climate-damaging CO2 gas.
